Problem Note 11812: Index files for SAS® Scalable Performance Data Engine data sets are not encrypted
When a SAS Scalable Performance Data Engine data set is encrypted, the data component files
are encrypted. None of the other files that are associated with the data set,
including the metadata and both index files, are encrypted. This
behavior differs from the information tjat is given in the SAS Language Reference: Concepts, which states that if a data file is encrypted,
all associated indexes are also encrypted.
BASE SAS® engine data sets do encrypt associated indexes.
